The “Ideopnoon” has a long-lasting presence in
the area of literature and cultural events of our country in general.
It consists of members who are prolific
literature writers that are engaged systematically with language and art. It
organizes events devoted to distinguished literature authors and it carries out
a plethora of intellectual activities.
Its objective is the promotion of intellectual
ideas and values and the contact of the readers with the figures of Greek and
international literature.
It has established a series of annual
activities, such as: a two-day symposium on ancient Greece, a two-day
Conference on poetry and fiction. one-day seminars on distinguished literature
writers and tradition, events relevant with the promotion of new poets and fiction
writers and an annual Panhellenic Literature Competition, dedications to
geographical areas which promote their history and culture, music and theater
nights, e.t.c.
Furthermore, the magazine “Pnoes logou &
technis” (Breaths of speech & art) and the cultural newspaper “Pnoes
Politismou” (Breaths of Culture), which aim at the best communication with the
reading audience and the attraction of new readers, as well as the
dissemination of literature and culture to a wider audience.
Within the frame of these efforts, we maintain
our selfless offer to culture, since we believe that, in this way, the
promotion of ideas and values that are useful and necessary for the youth and
for the social whole in general is attained.
